Today, I am sharing a side dish recipe that I served my family for Thanksgiving yesterday – crispy, seasoned, roasted Brussels sprouts. I know that this side dish is extremely popular on Thanksgiving, but it is also an incredible dish to serve during the fall and winter seasons in general.

I honestly used to hate Brussels sprouts when I was a kid. They were one of my least favorite vegetables. I much preferred broccoli, carrots, corn, and even spinach. However, as I got into high school and college, I began to season my vegetables a lot better.

This completely transformed my view on many of the vegetables I used to dislike. I actually found myself craving things like roasted Brussels sprouts. Now, I no longer have to force myself to eat vegetables. I love including them in my meals. I also often sneak veggies into snacks like fruit smoothies because I can’t even taste them and I know they are loading me up with extra nutrients.

Since we are now rolling into the chilly winter season, I thought that it would be the perfect time to share my crispy roasted Brussels sprouts recipe with all of you. Luckily, my version of this classic side dish is insanely easy to make. It also pairs well with pretty much any savory dish. Plus, Brussels sprouts are packed with plant based nutrients. When you season and cook them properly, they taste truly phenomenal.   • Olive Oil – The next ingredient you will want for this recipe is the olive oil. The olive oil adds flavor and richness to the Brussels sprouts. It also helps them achieve that super crispy texture on the outside. A light drizzle is all you need, as a little bit goes a long way.
  • Garlic Powder – The garlic powder adds a ton of flavor to these crispy roasted Brussels sprouts. It is the first essential spice used in this recipe. You definitely do not want to forget it.

Ingredients
  

  • 20-25 small to medium fresh Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • Thoroughly rinse the Brussels sprouts.
  • Place the Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl.
  • Evenly coat the sprouts in the olive oil.
  • Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well to evenly coat the sprouts in all of the spices.
  • Place the sprouts in a single layer on a lined or greased baking sheet with a bit of space between each sprout.
  • Bake the sprouts for about 35 minutes, or until they are browned and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside (you can check them with a fork to see if they are soft inside).
  • Let the sprouts cool for a bit.
