Crispy Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Good morning friends! I hope you all had a wonderful, safe, and fun Thanksgiving day. Today, I am sharing a side dish recipe that I served my family for Thanksgiving yesterday – crispy, seasoned, roasted Brussels sprouts. I know that this side dish is extremely popular on Thanksgiving, but it is also an incredible dish to serve during the fall and winter seasons in general.
I honestly used to hate Brussels sprouts when I was a kid. They were one of my least favorite vegetables. I much preferred broccoli, carrots, corn, and even spinach. However, as I got into high school and college, I began to season my vegetables a lot better.
This completely transformed my view on many of the vegetables I used to dislike. I actually found myself craving things like roasted Brussels sprouts. Now, I no longer have to force myself to eat vegetables. I love including them in my meals. I also often sneak veggies into snacks like fruit smoothies because I can’t even taste them and I know they are loading me up with extra nutrients.
Since we are now rolling into the chilly winter season, I thought that it would be the perfect time to share my crispy roasted Brussels sprouts recipe with all of you. Luckily, my version of this classic side dish is insanely easy to make. It also pairs well with pretty much any savory dish. Plus, Brussels sprouts are packed with plant based nutrients. When you season and cook them properly, they taste truly phenomenal. So, let’s go over some quick things to note for this recipe, as well as the list of ingredients you will need to make these crispy oven roasted Brussels sprouts a smashing success.
How to Make Brussels Sprouts in the Oven
It is no secret that one of the easiest ways to cook Brussels sprouts, and vegetables in general, is by roasting them in the oven. When you roast Brussels sprouts at high heat, they get nice and soft on the inside. After adding a bit of olive oil and a blend of spices, the sprouts turn out super crispy and flavorful.
These are the exact steps we are going to follow to make this crispy oven roasted Brussels sprouts recipe. You simply season the sprouts and then roast them at 350° F until they are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Now, let’s go ahead and take a look at the ingredients you will need to make these roasted Brussels sprouts.
Crispy Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts – Ingredients
- Brussels Sprouts – The fresh Brussels sprouts are the first ingredient you will need for this recipe. This should come as no surprise. After all, you can’t make roasted Brussels sprouts without the sprouts themselves.
- Olive Oil – The next ingredient you will want for this recipe is the olive oil. The olive oil adds flavor and richness to the Brussels sprouts. It also helps them achieve that super crispy texture on the outside. A light drizzle is all you need, as a little bit goes a long way.
- Garlic Powder – The garlic powder adds a ton of flavor to these crispy roasted Brussels sprouts. It is the first essential spice used in this recipe. You definitely do not want to forget it.
- Onion Powder – The onion powder is another key spice you will need for this recipe. It pairs extremely well with the Brussels sprouts and the other seasonings used in this recipe.
- Salt – The salt will be added to taste to further season your Brussels sprouts.
- Pepper – The pepper is another ingredient that you will adjust to taste. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to how salty and peppery they like their veggies, so I like to leave these two ingredient amounts up to your own personal taste.
