There are just a few simple ingredients required to make this recipe, which makes it the perfect recipe to whip up in a pinch. I love to prepare these oats the night before a busy workday so that I have my breakfast prepped and ready to eat in the morning.

If you are always rushing off to school or work, then this recipe is definitely for you. Plus, it tastes incredible and requires no baking.

Now, let’s go ahead and take a look at how to make overnight oats, as well as the list of ingredients you will need to make this blueberry almond butter overnight oats recipe a smashing success.

How To Make Overnight Oats

The process to make overnight oats is pretty quick and easy. Even if this is your first time making overnight oats, you shouldn’t have any issues doing so.

The first step is to grab a mason jar or reusable container that you want to store your overnight oats in. I love to use an almost empty nut butter jar or a glass mason jar. Anything with a tight lid will work well. Next, you add in your base of oats and other dry ingredients. After that, you add in the wet ingredients. I personally prefer to put my nut butter on top the next morning, but some people like to stir the nut butter into their oats before they pop them in the refrigerator overnight to set. It’s really up to you and your own personal preferences.

Once you have all your ingredients mixed together and transferred to your jar, you simply screw the lid on tight and pop the oats in the refrigerator. While the oats sit in the refrigerator overnight, they will absorb some of the liquid and thicken up nicely. The next morning, you will have perfectly chilled overnight oats ready to top with whatever you’d like. Finally, all that is left is to dig in and enjoy.

Overnight oats are especially great because you can take them with you when you’re in a rush. If you have yet to try them, I think they will quickly become one of your new favorite breakfast options.

Blueberry Overnight Oats – Ingredients

  • Quick Cooking Oats – The first ingredient you will need for this recipe is quick cooking oats. The oats serve as the key base ingredient for this recipe. They do a great job of soaking up the nut milk to create a thick and delicious overnight oatmeal.
  • Creamy Almond Butter – The next ingredient you will need for this recipe is the creamy almond butter. It is a great fat source that pairs really nicely with the sweet and refreshing taste of the blueberries.
  • Frozen Blueberries – The third ingredient you will need for this recipe is the frozen blueberries. You can use whichever brand or kind you prefer. I used frozen wild blueberries, which are a bit smaller that regular frozen blueberries.
  • Chia Seeds – Chia seeds are an amazing superfood which achieve a gel-like consistency when soaked in liquid. They help the oatmeal mixture come together really nicely in this recipe.
  • Cinnamon – The cinnamon is another simple ingredient you will need for this recipe. It adds a little bit of extra spice to the overnight oats. A little bit is all you need to enhance the flavor of this creamy blueberry almond butter overnight oats recipe.
  • Nut Milk – Another ingredient you will need for this recipe is the nut milk. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this recipe, but you can use whichever kind you have on hand or enjoy most. The nut milk acts as the key source of liquid to make the overnight oats thick and moist.
  • Pure Maple Syrup – The pure maple syrup is the main source of extra sweetness used in this overnight oats recipe. It pairs very nicely with the natural sweetness of the frozen blueberries.
