Easy Vegan Fried Rice (Without Soy Sauce)
Good morning friends! Today, I am so excited to share my easy vegan fried rice recipe with all of you. This recipe is packed with flavor, and it requires no soy sauce. Instead, we will be using liquid aminos to flavor this vegan fried rice with.
This recipe is perfect to serve up with tofu, mukimame, or any other plant based protein you enjoy. Now, let’s cover a few things to note for this recipe. Then, we will go through the list of ingredients you will need to make this delicious vegan fried rice.
What Do You Serve With Fried Rice?
There are many different foods that pair really well with fried rice. A few of my favorites include pan fried or oven baked tofu, mukimame, and chopped avocado. Basically, the fried rice serves as the perfect base for your favorite plant based protein source.
Alternatively, you could use this fried rice in a loaded salad bowl. You could add other veggies and fruits to the bowl such as corn and avocado, and build the bowl out from there.
How To Make Fried Rice
When it comes to making vegan fried rice, the steps are actually quite simple. First, you need to gather all of the necessary ingredients (which I will go into detail about in the next section). Once you have all your ingredients, you will simply cook the rice in water per the package directions until it is soft and fluffy. I chose to use brown rice for this recipe, but white rice will also work. As a general rule of thumb, you will need about two parts water for every one part rice. After that, you will add all of your ingredients to a pan (including the rice).
You will cook the mixture over low to medium heat for a few minutes, allowing the mixture to soak up the delicious flavor of the liquid aminos. After a few minutes of pan frying the rice and mixed vegetables, the vegan fried rice will be ready to eat. The final step is to enjoy your fried rice fresh and warm with whatever you’d like. I love serving mine up with tofu and some ripe avocado.
Now that we’ve covered that, let’s take a look at the list of ingredients you will need to make this easy vegan fried rice recipe.
Easy Vegan Fried Rice – Ingredients
- Brown Rice – The first ingredient you will need for this recipe is the rice. You can use white or brown rice. I chose to use brown rice on the day I photographed this recipe for the blog.
- Vegetables – Next up, you will need some mixed vegetables. For this recipe, I used a mix of frozen peas and carrots. I first heated the veggies in the microwave for a bit before adding them to the pan with the cooked rice and liquid aminos. This speeds up the cooking process, and ensures that the rice doesn’t get overcooked in the pan. The veggies add flavor and color to this delicious vegan fried rice recipe.
- Liquid Aminos – Another key ingredient you will need for this recipe is the liquid aminos. This ingredient serves as the main source of liquid which the rice and veggies will soak up for optimal flavor. The liquid aminos adds a ton of flavor to this dish. Of course, you could sub traditional soy sauce or even coconut aminos if you prefer.
- Water – The water is a necessary ingredient that you will use to cook the rice in. This ingredient ensures that the rice turns out nice and fluffy.
