Vegan Protein Waffles With Vanilla Protein Powder

Good morning everyone! I am so excited to share a brand new waffle recipe with all of you today. This vegan vanilla protein waffle recipe is made with just a few simple ingredients. It is sweet, delicious, moist, and fluffy. These protein waffles taste especially delicious topped with berries, nut butter, and pure maple syrup. My favorite fruit to pair with these pancakes is either strawberries or blueberries. The vanilla and berry flavors pair really nicely together. The protein powder also adds a boost of protein to the recipe.

As long as you have some sort of waffle iron, you will be able to make a nice stack of fluffy waffles to enjoy for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. If you don’t have a waffle iron, you could try making this recipe into pancakes instead. Now, let’s take a look at some quick things to note for this recipe. Then, we will dive into the full list of ingredients you will need to make this vanilla protein waffle recipe a smashing success.

What Waffle Iron Do I Use?

One highly debated topic of discussion surrounding waffle irons is which one is best to use for protein waffle recipes (and waffle recipes in general). Fortunately, my waffle iron recommendation is both compact and inexpensive. I have the Dash brand waffle iron (this post is not sponsored). It is the perfect size to make waffles for one person. It heats up really quickly and I never have issues with my waffles sticking.

I purchased my Dash waffle iron a few years ago, and it still works great. Recently, the Dash waffle iron has gotten quite popular due to many people raving about it on TikTok, and for good reason. One thing I do want to say is that if you are making waffles for a number of people, the Dash waffle iron may not be the way to go. Since it is quite small, it would take a lot of time to make a big batch of waffles to serve multiple people.

Anyways, enough about waffle irons. Let’s take a look at the list of ingredients you will need to make these vegan vanilla protein waffles.

Vegan Protein Waffles With Vanilla Protein Powder – Ingredients

  • Quick Oats – The quick oats are the first essential ingredient you will need for this protein waffles recipe. The oats are blended up to form a fine oat flour.
  • Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder – The next ingredient you will need for this protein waffles recipe is the vanilla protein powder. I used the Orgain Simple protein powder in the creamy vanilla flavor. I really like the taste of this protein powder, so it’s the one I recommend. You can use whichever brand you prefer or have on hand.
  • Baking Powder – The baking powder acts as the key leavening agent in this recipe to ensure that your protein waffles turn out nice and fluffy. The baking powder is an essential ingredient that you definitely do not want to omit.
  • Fruit (Fresh or Frozen) – The fruit serves as a key topping for this protein waffles recipe. Some of my favorites include sliced strawberries/bananas or frozen blueberries, which I like to heat in the microwave.
  • Nut Milk – The nut milk is the source of liquid used in this vanilla protein waffles recipe. It adds creaminess to your waffle batter. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but you can use whichever kind you prefer or have on hand.
  • Unsweetened Applesauce – The unsweetened applesauce adds moisture and natural sweetness to this protein waffles recipe.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter – The creamy peanut butter will be drizzled on top of your protein waffles after you cook them and stack them up. It adds both richness and flavor. You can sub another nut or seed butter if desired.
  • Pure Maple Syrup – The pure maple syrup will be added to taste after your waffles cook for even more moisture and sweetness.
