Banana Chocolate Chip Air Fryer Oatmeal Recipe

Good morning everyone! I am bringing you the perfect healthy breakfast or dessert recipe today – banana chocolate chip oatmeal! However, this is not just any oatmeal recipe. I actually cooked it in my air fryer, and it turned out super fluffy, moist, delicious, and flavorful.

I was inspired to try making air fryer oatmeal because of all the air fryer oatmeal videos I have been seeing on TikTok recently (you can follow me @nomeatfastfeet for some quick and easy recipe videos). I thought the concept was so cool that I had to try making my own unique version, and I figured banana chocolate chip was the perfect combination to make.

Since the recipe turned out so incredibly well, I just knew I needed to share it with you all, so that is exactly what I am going to do today. Fortunately, this recipe is so simple that you will have no problem making it. Best of all, the air fryer cuts down on the bake time for the oatmeal, so your oatmeal will be ready to eat much faster than if you were to use a traditional oven. Of course, if you do not own an air fryer, you can simply bake this oatmeal in the oven and increase the bake time. Just make sure to keep a close eye on it so that it doesn’t burn.

Now, let’s go ahead and jump right into the ingredients you will need to make this banana chocolate chip air fryer oatmeal recipe.

Banana Chocolate Chip Air Fryer Oatmeal – Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats – The first ingredient you will need for this air fryer oatmeal recipe is the rolled oats. This ingredient is pretty much a given, and it’s a nutrient powerhouse. It is packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It is one of my favorite breakfast or dessert ingredients, especially when combined with fruit and fun toppings like peanut butter/chocolate chips.
  • Ripe or Overripe Banana – The second ingredient you will need for this recipe is the ripe (or overripe) banana. This ingredient adds a ton of natural sweetness and micronutrients. It also adds moisture to the oatmeal recipe. The banana should be ripe or overripe for maximum sweetness. It is the second key ingredient you will need to make this oatmeal recipe.
  • Nut Milk – The next ingredient you will want for this recipe is the nut milk. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this recipe, and it worked perfectly. The nut milk serves as the necessary liquid to turn the oatmeal mixture into a true baked oat batter. It also adds creaminess to the recipe. Therefore, it is a key ingredient you will definitely need to make this banana chocolate chip air fryer oatmeal.
  • Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips – The final essential ingredient for banana chocolate chip air fryer oatmeal is, of course, the chocolate chips. You can use any kind that you would like, but I chose to use the Enjoy Life brand mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. I love them because they taste delicious, the ingredients list is short and sweet, and they’re vegan. The chocolate chips will be sprinkled on top of the oatmeal mixture before you pop it in the air fryer to bake.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter – The optional topping for this recipe is peanut butter. I highly recommend it, as the flavor pairs very well with the banana and chocolate chips. Of course, if you just want to make this recipe a pure banana chocolate chip flavor, you can totally eat the oatmeal without any peanut butter. I personally really love peanut butter, so I put it on top of just about anything sweet.

I was honestly a bit shocked when I tried making baked oatmeal in the air fryer and it actually worked. I was a little bit worried that my oatmeal was going to explode, but to my surprise, it turned out super fluffy and delicious (and I didn’t even use baking powder). If you have yet to try air fryer oatmeal, I definitely recommend you give this recipe a go. You won’t regret it!
