Seasoned Oven Roasted Chickpeas

Good morning friends! Today, I am sharing a simple and delicious recipe for seasoned roasted chickpeas that are baked in the oven. These chickpeas are easy to make, super flavorful, and extremely versatile. You can use them on top of salads, in lunch wraps, or you can pack them up and take them with you on the go for a healthy snack.

This seasoned roasted chickpeas recipe requires less than ten simple ingredients, and there is also very little prep time. I love to make a big batch of them so that I have them ready to eat throughout the work week. If you guys like chickpeas, I think you will really enjoy this recipe.

Now, let’s take a look at some quick logistics, as well as the list of ingredients you will need to make this roasted chickpeas recipe a smashing success.

What Can I Do With A Can Of Chickpeas?

There are a ton of different things you can do with a can of chickpeas. Their versatility is one of the reasons I love them so much. Not only are canned chickpeas extremely budget friendly, but they can be used in dips, salads, and more. Now, I’m going to quickly discuss a few ways you can use canned chickpeas in case you’re looking for new recipes.

First off, you can use canned chickpeas to make creamy homemade hummus. This is one of the easiest, tastiest ways to use canned chickpeas. You simply throw all of your ingredients together in a blender, and then blend until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved. I love making homemade hummus to use as a dip for crackers and carrots, or to spread on toast for a savory snack option.

Next, you can use chickpeas in salads. Chickpeas add a ton of flavor to an otherwise boring salad, and they are one of my favorite plant based protein sources to add in. Similarly, they can be used in nourish bowls for extra flavor and nutrients. I love to make nourish bowls with things like rice, quinoa, sweet potato, chickpeas, and veggies.

A third way you can use chickpeas is by adding them to a curry. I love making curry with sweet potatoes, spices, coconut milk, and of course, chickpeas. It’s a delicious and comforting recipe packed with nutrients.

Finally, you can use chickpeas to make a simple and delicious snack, which is exaclty what we are doing today. Seasoned roasted chickpeas are the perfect snack to make a big batch of because they can be prepped in just a few minutes. After you prep your chickpeas by coating them in oil and seasonings, you simply have to bake them, let them cool, and then you can store them in the refrigerator to enjoy later. I love to use my roasted chickpeas in wraps, on top of salads, or I will even eat them by the handful for a quick and easy plant based snack.

There are many other ways to use canned chickpeas, but these are just a few of my personal favorites. Now that we have covered some of the logistics, let’s go through the short and sweet list of ingredients you will need to make these seasoned roasted chickpeas.

Seasoned Oven Roasted Chickpeas – Ingredients

  • Chickpeas – The chickpeas are the first key ingredient you will need for this recipe. You will want to use canned chickpeas so that they are already cooked. You also want to make sure to drain and rinse them thoroughly so that they are prepped and ready to go.
  • Cumin – The cumin is the first essential spice that adds flavor to this chickpea recipe.
  • Garlic Powder – The garlic powder adds garlic flavor to the chickpeas.
  • Onion Powder – The onion powder adds onion flavor to the chickpeas.
  • Paprika – The paprika is another essential spice that adds flavor to the chickpeas. It combines really well with the other spices used in this recipe.
  • Salt – The salt will be added to your chickpeas before you pop them in the oven to bake. This ingredient is added to taste.
  • Olive Oil – The olive oil adds flavor to the chickpeas. It also helps the chickpeas crisp up so that they achieve a firmer texture.
