Easy Cinnamon Roll Baked Oatmeal
Good morning everyone! Today, I have a super delicious, flavorful, and easy breakfast recipe to share with all of you. Unsurprisingly, it is an oatmeal recipe. However, this isn’t just any oatmeal recipe. Today we are making sticky cinnamon roll baked oatmeal. I kid you not, I have already made this recipe for breakfast three times this week, and it is only Thursday! I love how sweet, moist, and tasty this cinnamon roll baked oatmeal recipe turned out, and I know you guys will appreciate it just as much.
While baked oatmeal is a little bit more time consuming to make than microwave or stovetop oats, I definitely think it is worth the extra effort. This recipe specifically is very simple, which makes it the perfect breakfast or dessert option.
Now, let’s go ahead and go through some quick logistics, as well as the list of ingredients you will need to make this recipe a smashing success.
Can You Put Oatmeal In The Oven?
You absolutely can bake oatmeal in the oven! There are many ways to make baked oatmeal. While I love to share my single serve baked oat recipes, it is also possible to bake oatmeal in a large square dish. That way, you can easily serve multiple people by cutting your oatmeal bake into bars.
With this recipe specifically, the oatmeal is blended with other ingredients and then baked in a ramekin. That way, it turns out almost like a single serve “cake”. It achieves an ultra fluffy texture and a delicious cinnamon roll flavor. Those of you who are always on the hunt for tasty single serving or small batch recipes will definitely appreciate this baked cinnamon roll oatmeal for one.
Now that we have gone through the logistics, let’s take a look at the list of ingredients you will need to make this tasty cinnamon roll baked oatmeal recipe.
Cinnamon Roll Baked Oatmeal – Ingredients
- Quick Oats – The first ingredient you will need for this recipe is, of course, the quick oats. This ingredient is a given. The oats will be combined with the other ingredients to achieve the perfect baked oatmeal batter. If you want to make this recipe gluten free, be sure to use your favorite gluten free oats.
- Ripe/Overripe Banana – The next ingredient you will need for this recipe is the ripe or overripe banana. The banana serves as a source of natural sweetness and moisture. I really want to stress the importance of using a ripe or overripe banana, as this will maximize the overall sweetness.
- Baking Powder – You will also need baking powder for this recipe. The baking powder acts as the key leavening agent to ensure your oatmeal rises perfectly to achieve a fluffy texture. It is an important ingredient that you definitely don’t want to omit.
- Cinnamon – The next ingredient that you need for this homemade cinnamon roll oatmeal is cinnamon. Again, this ingredient comes as no surprise. Not only is the cinnamon used in the oatmeal batter itself, but it is also used in the maple cinnamon topping for your baked oatmeal.
- Nut Milk – You will also want nut milk for this recipe. The nut milk acts as the source of liquid to turn your dry mixture into an oatmeal batter. It also adds creaminess to the batter. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but you can use any nut milk you have on hand or enjoy most.
- Creamy Almond Butter – You will also want some creamy almond butter for this recipe. The almond butter is combined with cinnamon and pure maple syrup to make a delicious maple cinnamon topping for your oatmeal. I used raw almond butter that I purchased from Trader Joe’s.
- Pure Maple Syrup – The final ingredient you will want for this recipe is the pure maple syrup. The maple syrup is mixed with the almond butter and a bit of cinnamon to create the sweet maple cinnamon topping for the baked oatmeal. A little bit is also added to the oatmeal base for extra sweetness.
