Easy Crunchy Granola Apple Nachos

Good morning everyone! Today, I am bringing you a quick and simple snack recipe that has a delicious sweet and salty flavor combination. These crunchy vegan apple nachos serve as the perfect afternoon snack. The thinly sliced apples act as the “chips” for these sweet “nachos”, and all the toppings add even more texture and depth of flavor. This recipe has been one of my go-to snacks for the past few weeks because it is so easy to whip up in a pinch, and it hits the spot every single time.

These apple nachos are a prime example of how easy it is to create a flavor packed snack in minutes. Now, let’s go over a few quick things to note for this recipe. Then, we will dive into the list of ingredients you will need to make this easy granola apple nachos recipe a smashing success!

What Goes Well With Apples as a Snack?

If you are trying to make an apple snack plate, this blog post is for you. With this plate of apple nachos, we will be layering fresh apple slices with nut butter, maple syrup, and some crunchy granola clusters. I personally think that fresh apple slices and almond butter or peanut butter is such a quick and delicious snack, and this apple nachos plate is essentially an elevated version of that. Other foods that pair well with a fresh apple as a snack include vegan caramel dip (I make this using soaked dates), fruits like grapes and melon (you can make a little fruit salad), or vegan cheese and crackers (sort of like a mini snack platter). Anyway, enough on that.

Now that we have covered a few quick things to note for this recipe, let’s go through the full list of ingredients you will need to make these crunchy vegan granola apple nachos.

Easy Crunchy Granola Apple Nachos – Ingredients

  • One Fresh Apple – The first ingredient you will need for this recipe is, of course, the fresh apple. You can use whatever kind of apple you would like. A few of my personal favorites are Honey Crisp, Fuji, and Pink Lady apples. However, if you want a less sweet apple, you could opt for something with a more sour taste, such as a Granny Smith apple. Make sure you have a super crisp, crunchy, sweet, and juicy apple for optimal flavor.
  • Creamy Almond Butter – Next up, you will need some creamy nut butter. You can actually use any nut butter that you would like for this recipe. My two favorites so far have been peanut butter and almond butter. I think they pair really well with the sweet flavor of the apple. Plus, the nut butter adds a source of fat to this snack, which I think balances it out quite nicely.
  • Crunchy Granola – The next ingredient you will need for this recipe is the granola. Again, you can choose whichever granola you like best for this recipe. I highly recommend my quinoa oat granola cluster recipe (link here). It is super crunchy, it has the perfect mix of sweet and salty flavors, and it tastes incredible paired with the apple slices and nut butter. It is also the granola that I like to use on top of my apple nachos (which you can see in the photos for this post). So, if you think the granola looks yummy, don’t be afraid to give that recipe a try as well.
  • Pure Maple Syrup The last ingredient you will need for these apple nachos is the pure maple syrup. While this apple nacho recipe does get some sweetness from the apple itself as well as the granola, the pure maple syrup adds even more flavor and sweetness. You could omit this ingredient if you’d like, as I don’t think it’s completely necessary. However, I do enjoy topping my apple nachos with a drizzle of pure maple syrup before digging in.
