Easy Cilantro Lime Quinoa

Good morning friends! Today, I am super excited to share a simple and delicious cilantro lime quinoa recipe. This recipe is perfect for using in salads, as a base for nourish bowls, or even as a substitute for rice in burritos or burrito bowls. I love to eat my cilantro lime quinoa with black beans, veggies, hummus, and more. A few days ago, I had some inside a pita pocket sandwich, and it tasted absolutely incredible.

This cilantro lime quinoa recipe is very easy to make with less than ten ingredients. It comes together in just minutes, and the flavor combination is delicious. If you like cilantro lime rice, you will probably love this easy cilantro lime quinoa recipe. Now, let’s take a look at some things you should know before you make this recipe, as well as the ingredients you will need to make this cilantro lime quinoa a smashing success.

How To Cook Quinoa

The first important step for this recipe is to cook the quinoa. So, I thought I would quickly go over how to do so for those who have never made quinoa before (or for those who simply want a refresher). The steps are very easy and also quite similar to how you would cook rice or oatmeal. For this recipe, I cooked my quinoa on the stovetop. However, I have also made it in my Dash rice cooker many times. Since I know that not everyone has a rice cooker, I am going to discuss how to make your quinoa on the stovetop. The following are the essential steps:

Step 1 – Add the quinoa to a pot with water (follow package directions for ratio).
Step 2 – Place the pot on the stovetop with the lid, and bring to a boil.
Step 3 – Turn the heat to medium-low and cook until the quinoa is fluffy and soft, about 10 – 15 minutes.

And that’s it. As you can tell, the steps to making quinoa are very quick and simple. I always make sure to watch my quinoa closely while it cooks to ensure it doesn’t burn. It cooks much faster than brown rice, and I pull it off from the heat right when it gets fluffy and all the water is absorbed. After you cook your quinoa, it is ready to mix with all the other key ingredients in this recipe to form a delicious cilantro lime quinoa.

How To Make A Cilantro Lime Quinoa Bowl

Another common question relating to this recipe is how to use your cilantro lime quinoa in a nourish or burrito bowl. This is actually quite easy to do. Essentially, you use the cilantro lime quinoa as a base, and then add in whatever you’d like. I personally love to add black beans, cooked tofu, veggies such as broccoli and corn, fresh tomatoes, avocado, salsa, nutritional yeast seasoning, etc.

Pretty much anything you would normally put inside a burrito can go into your nourish bowl. All of these flavors pair perfectly with the cilantro lime quinoa, so it is a delicious combination that I highly recommend. It’s also a very easy lunch option that you can pack up and take with you on the go or enjoy at home.

Now that we have covered some things you should know before making this recipe, let’s take a look at the list of ingredients you will need to make this cilantro lime quinoa.
